Frequently asked questions
Questions about the AK-V PRO
Everything about the quiet cut-pile tufting gun with a brushless motor.
Can the AK-V PRO also tuft loop pile?
No. The AK-V PRO is designed specifically for cut pile: it cuts through every loop, so you get a soft, upright pile. If you also want to tuft loop pile, choose the AK-DUO PRO. It does both. The difference between the two techniques is explained in the tufting guide for beginners.
How quiet is the AK-V PRO?
The AK-V PRO has a brushless motor, so it runs almost silently. That lets you tuft in a calm environment and concentrate on your design. The housing has a new, sturdy design, made for intensive use. Compare it with the other models under tufting guns, or take a look at the AK-DUO PRO.
What are the specifications of the AK-V PRO?
The AK-V PRO runs on 100 to 240 V (50 to 60 Hz) with an EU plug and has a power rating of 70 W. You set the speed from 5 to 40 stitches per second and the pile height from 8 to 18 mm. It is light and easy to handle. Work out how much wool you need for your pile height with the wool calculator. Choose your colours under tufting wool.
What do the display and the light on the AK-V PRO do?
The digital display shows your speed, so you can keep track of it and adjust it precisely. The guide light on the front of the gun shows where your stitch will land, so you can tuft accurately along your lines. Draw your design clearly on the cloth beforehand, or project it with a tufting projector. More tips are in the step-by-step guide.
Do I have to assemble the AK-V PRO myself?
No. The AK-V PRO comes fully assembled and is ready to use straight away. Take it out of the box, plug it in and thread your yarn. All you still need is a stretched cloth and wool. Don't have those yet? Take a look at the tufting frames and the tufting cloth.
What warranty do I get on the AK-V PRO?
You get a 2-year warranty, and in the first year after purchase maintenance is free: adjustment, parts and labour. Keep the gun running smoothly yourself with tufting gun oil. Order today, and in the Netherlands and Belgium you'll have it tomorrow. Read more about the warranty under general information.
